After graduating from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, I applied for a teaching job with Lawton Public Schools. I was asked to coach Girls Basketball at Lawton High School and accepted in 1983. After eight years of coaching, I resigned my coaching duties to spend more time with my young daughters. I taught Physical Education at Park Lane Elementary in Lawton for three years, during which time, my third daughter was born.
In 1994, my husband moved us to Clinton, Oklahoma in order to be closer to his family's farm. I taught 7th Grade English for four years at Clinton Middle School and also coached Middle School Basketball.
After four years in Clinton, I transferred to Cordell where I coached basketball and softball, taught junior high English, computer, geography and High School Computer classes. In 2011, my youngest daughter graduated from Cordell High School and went to Oklahoma Christian University on a basketball scholarship. In order to follow the Lady Eagles and my daughter, I resigned my coaching duties and was assigned 5th and 6th grade computer for two years. This year I have added 5th Grade English, Reading and Computer to my agenda.
I have been married to my husband, Greg for 34 years. We have three grown daughters, three sons-in-law, a grandson and two granddaughters.. All three of my daughters attended Cordell Schools and then college at UCO and Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, where they have all made their homes.
I am fortunate to have both my parents who invested their careers in education and have been great role models for me in, not only education, but every aspect of life.
I spend most of my spare time spoiling my grandbabies. I have learned that grandchildren are the most fulfilling aspect of life after the children are grown and married. When I'm not with my grands, I take care of my small business of raising puppies -- Maltese and Yorkies. I have been in the business since 1994 and continue to further my knowledge of raising healthy puppies. Animals have always been my passion, and I love placing puppies in loving homes.
I also enjoy pretty much anything outside: fishing, boating, camping, riding four wheelers in the mountains, cooking outside, and all of these things with family and friends.
