I graduated from West Memphis High School in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1976. I worked for Wal-Mart during my senior year of high school and one year after I graduated. I joined the United States Coast Guard in 1977. Over a span of 21 ½ years I spent my first 11 ½ years as an enlisted man achieving the rank of E-7 (Chief Petty Officer) and my last ten years achieving the rank of Lieutenant (O-3E) that consisted of two afloat assignments aboard two Coast Guard Cutters (ships) and seven shore assignments in Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kansas, and Virginia. After I retired in 1998, I got into education, and spent my first four years as a Senior Naval Science ROTC Instructor at two different high schools (Arkansas and Maryland). Afterwards, I spent two years as a Cost/Price Analyst for the U. S. Army. My heart was in education, so I became a certified teacher in the State of Oklahoma at four dfifferent schools over a ten-year span. My last four years I have spent as an assistant and now head principal. My two ultimate goals are to finsh my doctorate degree and to become a school superintendent.
